Welcome to the web site of The Arts Society Farnham (formerly Farnham Decorative and Fine Arts Society)

TAS Farnham is one of the largest Decorative and Fine Arts Societies in the UK and was founded in 1983. We hold 10 lectures a year on the third Tuesday of each month, except July and August. Meetings are held at 10.30 in the Great Hall of the Maltings which seats 350 people. Situated in the centre of Farnham, The Maltings has a car park and small cafe, an ideal place to meet up for coffee.

The Society chooses top lecturers to speak on a wide range of topics in the decorative and fine arts covering all aspects, including jewellery, paintings, sculptures, music, glass, gardens and houses. Click here for future lectures. A list of past lecturers and lectures is here. Non members are welcome to attend at a cost of £5. Prior booking is not required.

We are a friendly Society and everyone has the opportunity of getting involved in the many active Groups as volunteers. These include local Heritage, Church Recording and Young Arts and is a wonderful way of getting to know other people with similar interests.

TAS Farnham organises interesting visits and special-interest study mornings as well as tours in the UK and abroad. Recents tours include West Sicily, Liverpool and Dresden. Upcoming tours are planned for Cornwall and East Sicily. Details can be found in the relevant section on the website.

Artwork from local schools is showcased in the Farnham Station waiting room. We’re delighted that this initiative has been copied by several other societies in their local stations.
